Happy Land Park

Information on Happy Land Park in Shickshinny is scarce, to say the least. Several sources note its existence, but further details have not yet been found. It’s listed as either Happy Land (two words) or Happyland (one word) depending on the source.

An almanac from 1919 stated “Happy Land Park at Shickshinny” opened on July 7, 1918, but it is not clear if that refers to the beginning of the season or the first time it ever opened. Another source references 1895 as the first year for the park.

Beyond its existence, there are no details available as to whether or not it had mechanical amusement devices or if it was only a picnic park.
